Inquiry expenditure
The table below sets out the expenditure for the Inquiry up to and including 31 December 2011. The Inquiry was established formally on 1 December 2009 and expenditure from that date is included.
Only expenditure authorised through, or on behalf of, the Inquiry Secretariat is included in these figures. The Inquiry is directly funding the legal costs of some Iraqi witnesses as well as its own legal team. At the present time, the costs of other Core Participants or witnesses are being met directly by the Ministry of Defence and those costs are not shown here. The Ministry of Defence and other organisations may also have other costs which are met internally and are not included in the Inquiry’s expenditure figures.
